Royal Academy of Dance Examinations

At Pretty Little Ballerinas we follow the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) Syllabus. We offer students from Primary Ballet upwards the opportunity to sit their RAD assessment. RAD assessments are designed to encourage, motivate and reward students of all ages and abilities, outlining a progressive structure for learning and achievement.

If your child would like to complete their RAD assessment they must be able to commit to 2 classes a week and must not miss more than 3 classes per term. The requirements for the 2 lessons per week are for: technique, learning and memory of the set exercises, developing performance quality and to build confidence. There will also be RAD holiday classes in the September school holidays (end of term 3 break). RAD assessments are held in term 4 at the RAD HQ in Darlinghurst, with exact dates provided closer to the day.

Completing an RAD assessment is a really beautiful experience for children. They will perform their assessment with up to 3 other children (from their class) in the RAD HQ studio and they will receive a special certificate and badge from the RAD.

The cost to do an RAD assessment is 2 lessons per week. In term 4 (once they have completed their assessment) they can drop back to 1 lesson a week for the remainder of the term.

Exam entry fee is approximately $130.

September school holiday classes (approx. 2 classes for 1.5 hours) $45 each
